A man commoly referred to as a legend!!!

Leo Mas has been a key player and bearer of Ibiza’s birth as the capital city of worldwide clubbing when, between 1985 – 1988 alongside Alfredo at the Amnesia, he hatched the plot for a new music movement made by the influence of the new house coming from America with a freaky eclectic mixture of styles … which has then been called Balearic Beat.

Thanks to the resonance this new sound fascination has had on many London DJs, the whole European club scene started a radical change.

He is one of the most eminent promoters of this movement, one of the pioneers of house music and immediate expression of Balearic sound who has given birth to the first clubs that have shaped the history of Italian house scene: from late 80’s through the 90’s with Macrillo (Asiago), with the first 12 hours parties (the beginning of After Hours’ experience), with Movida in Jesolo and main charchter at Ranch and Mazoom after parties.

Leo Mas is an icon of Italian underground dance, thanks also to the partnership with Gemolotto and Fabrice with whom he has begun the fantastic Big Brother Productions project. Together they were called “The Triad” and they have founded a series of independent record labels – Informal, Muzak, Pin-Up, Models-Inc and Spock – and the record distribution Zero Gravity in Udine.

Leo still an activist, a ground-breaking DJ with his unmistakable and unique style, original, anarchist and underground, always independent and nonconformist.
